***Reported misssing 7/9/05***
This is a drive-by. Kid and dog friendly area with rest room.
This cowboy is waiting for you at Lion's Park in Cheyenne, which includes Cheyenne Frontier Days Old West Museum and Frontier Days Rodeo Grounds.
Directions:
Fom I-25 take exit 12 - Central Ave. and head southeast. Turn into Lions Park.
From I-80 take exit 362 and head north on Warren Ave. which is one-way to the north. Central Ave. is one-way south at this point. Warren joins Central Ave. further north. Turn into Lions park on Central Ave.
As you are entering the park, you'll see the golf course on the right side, with a fence around it. Follow this fence, turning to the right at the "Absarrac Recreation Area". (away from the signs pointing to the museum and rodeo grounds to the left)
Clues:
From the Absarraca Recreation Area Sign, count 3 power poles on the right side of the road, along the golf course fence. The second sign has "5 MPH" sign mounted on it. The third pole has a street light and is next to a locked gate.
Across from the third pole is a pull-through parking area between some trees. (Go past the 2 previous one-car pull outs) Park between the two trees on the right.
So now there are 3 trees on your right, and a grassy opening in the trees on your left, with a narrow path along the edge of the lake, through the trees and bushes that block your view of the lake.
Just to the right of this clearing, near the car, should be a dead tree bending over. The cowboy is hiding in its base behind a removeable wood piece and bark.
Please re-hide well and be discreet - busy area with fishermen and traffic.
