This box is missing. I will update the clues when I am able to replace it! - Es 6/11/07

John Wayne, Maureen O'Hara, Henry Fonda, Anthony Quinn and so many others all spent time in Moab filming the great Westerns. The red mountains and endless acres of land look the same today as they did when the movies were made and as they did when the country was young, new and untamed.
Utah Scenic Byway 128 between Cisco and Moab winds along the Colorado river and past the locations of many classic westerns. As you drive along the highway you will recognize scenery from movies starting in 1949 with 'Wagon Master', through 'Rio Grande', 'Ten Who Dared', 'The Comancheros', 'Cheyenne Autumn', 'Rio Conchos' and right up until 'City Slickers II' in 1993. Exact locations can be found at:

The historic 'Dewey Bridge' appears in the movie 'Choke Canyon'. Although they weren't in that particular movie, I like to think of the Duke, Miss O'Hara and the others standing in the shade of the giant cottonwood tree there in between takes during the filming of one of the wonderful westerns.
Travel along the road until you reach the Dewey Bridge. Pull into the parking area on the Moab side of the bridge and walk to the historic marker set at the end of the bridge. Stand with your back to the marker and face 210 degrees. You'll see a huge boulder sitting at the edge of the lot. On the fence side of the boulder, tucked up underneath the giant rock, the journal of the old westerns waits.

Please make sure to rehide this well!
