Replaced new spot 2/16/2006 (new spot with less snake worries...)

Always look forward and never look back...

He is a notable presence on the highway bearing his name, between Bunker Hill and Black Mountain. He points westward, towards:

the trails used by California missionaries in years gone by, or
the San Andreas Rift Valley in the vicinity of Crystal Springs, or
the path of enlightenment---

choose the interpretation you like best...

Find a place of rest to park your car and find the path leading up the hill, beginning behind the restrooms. Please note the sign cautioning about rattlesnakes. Follow this path up the hill and enjoy the lovely cacti on either side, continuing past the memory of Jim Trumbull. Go all the way up to the pointing man and find San Antonio 1771. Turn around and you will see a bench immediately behind you. Sit on the west end of the bench-- What are you sitting upon??
