Find and park in the Fisherman's Parking lot on SR 374 north of Cedar Falls. Find the path from the parking lot that goes across the road toward Rose Lake.

*** Four other letterboxes are along this trail as well. They are "Let The Sun Shine" and "Hannah" (Family Stampeders, and "Phew and Trail Hiker" (Safari Man).

Follow the entire trail to Rose Lake. At one point you will be in a section where all the pines are very tall and all planted in rows. The ground is completely covered in a nice blanket of needles. Do not worry about where the trail went. Stick to your intuition and just keep working your way in the same general direction working your way down the rows and slightly downhill. Contrary to myth....all paths will lead you back on track! :)

Keep watching for a glimpse of Rose Lake. Once you see any part of the lake, start watching for the path to turn slightly to the left and go downward. As you do this watch for a large fallen pine tree with a little bit of a splintered end immediately to your right. The trunk lays almost perfectly N-S. It is a perfect height to sit on and have an elevated view of the lake through the trees.

After taking a rest, stand back up in the middle of the trail directly across from the end of this trunk to your left. In other words you are facing up the trail once again. Go 26 paces at 50* to an approx. 20-foot tall dead tree trunk. Rose Lake is on the high side of the base under some bark and rocks.

Let me know if you find this and please rehide well. The first one got washed away most likely into the lake! :-)
