First Aid needed- log books are full and damp. If you have some adding machine paper or are willing to cut some regular paper to size to fit in the pill bottle, I'd be very grateful if you could help me out with the maintenance (I'm in Indiana.) Thanks! Good luck with your search!

I used to live in SA many years ago. I returned to visit with friends and wanted to add a few letterboxes to the area. I chose three subjects (from many possible images) that brought back some happy memories for me. I used to ride horses on a farm that had longhorn cattle and really enjoyed seeing them in the fields we rode by. They are well known in Texas, so I thought this image would be appropriate. This is the Longhorn box, also look for Cowboys and Dancers.

Directions:
From Hwy 281, go east on E.Bitters. Stay left onto Starcrest as road splits. Turn left on Jones Maltsberger and go about 1 mile to the McAllister park entry on right. Pull in and park on the left at "Turkey Roost Trail Head and Park".

Clues:
Walk to the bathrooms and go right on the path. Note: If you have eaten recently, please stop in the bathroom and wash your hands to avoid transfering the scent of food to any letterboxes you might find. This will help keep critters from finding them. :-)

Stay left until you reach a path on your right with a red and white sign ("Park Patrons Please use designated trails..."). Follow this path for 120 steps until you come to a line of boulders on your left. After finding Peanuts letterbox, continue on the path for about 210 steps until you reach a Y in the trail. Go left (west) for 15 steps, then turn left (south) on a dirt path and walk 40 steps. After finding a lonestar, go about 150 steps farther up the trail. On the right is a small pile of stones next to a skinny stump about 4-5 feet tall. Look under one of the larger stones near the back of the pile for a longhorn. It will be in a camo covered pill bottle. Please retrieve and re-hide it carefully and without on-lookers.

Let me know if you find it & if you want to 'adopt it'
