Removed 4/15/05 - log book was wet. Not returning.

Originally named the "Reverse the Curse Letterbox"....The Boston Red Sox went and won the World Series before I had a chance to place it. So....I changed it to "World Champs Reverse the Curse Letterbox"! Congratulations, Red Sox! This was also going to be placed at the ball fields at Houghton's Pond. But the road was closed today. Rather than wait...I decided to plant it a little further away!

Located at Ponkapoag Trail in Milton. Take Rte 128 to Exit 3 Houghton's Pond Exit. Do not go towards Houghton's Pond. Rather go in the opposite direction to Ponkapoag Trail. There is parking here at the trail head.

Follow Ponkapoag Trail to a path on your left marked for Fisherman's Beach and AMC Camp - Marker 5241. Take this left. Follow this path for a while. You will pass some large rock formations on your left. These rock formations are quite spread out. After this large grouping of rocks the path snakes to the left and then immediately to the right downhill. There will be a small path on your right. The path is on the right immediately after the path snakes around to the left but before you start going downhill.

Blocking this path is two large fallen trees. Go over these trees. Follow the path down towards the water.

You will come to a small pine tree in the middle of the path approximately two to three feet tall. After the pine tree on your left will be two large rocks...one leaning on the other. Behind these rocks is an oak (I believe) tree. This oak tree has a smaller tree coming off the bottom of it and wrapping around it like a snake (or maybe it's just giving it a celebratory hug for the Red Sox victory!). The letterbox is hidden at the base of this tree in a little hole formed by the roots.

Please rehide and cover well. Email me and let me know you found this letterbox!
