BRING A MATCHBOX CAR TO SWAP

CLUES

Leave parking lot and walk across wooden bridge to intersection of red and
yellow loop trails. Turn right and right again onto the right branch of the
Yellow Loop Trail (toward #43) and climb. Trail levels at a large rock in the path. Keep
climbing.

After a steady climb, the Yellow Trail will come to a very sudden drop (at #28).
Stop! Back up until you are standing among a lot of fallen cedar trunks that
look like someone just emptied out a toy box. TJ does this all of the time.
Fifteen paces (30 steps) to the right you will see a two-sister tree. Ten feet
to your left you will see a large flat stone. The TOY BOX LETTERBOX is hidden
behind and under this stone. All of these stamps fit together. So be sure of
their position.

Return to the Yellow Loop Trail and descend. You will walk through a stone
wall and then notice ledge starting to appear on your left. Looking out into the
trees on your right, you will see many many orange blazes. Continue carefully.
The turn onto the Orange Trail will appear on your right. (If you miss the turn,
you will soon meet the Blue Trail. This will tell you back up and look for
orange blazes on your left.)

The Orange Trail is TJ's favorite because he cannot resist the temptation
to run at full speed when the trail is descending. This trail drops and drops,
following an old rock wall. If you get carried away with running, you might find
yourself on the Troll's bridge before you can stop yourself. Carefully walk out
onto the bridge. TJ likes trolls. So this one will not bother you. Standing in
the middle of the bridge, turn around and face back the way you came. To your
left is a peeling tree that is the perfect hiding place for the TROLL BRIDGE
LETTERBOX.

(relocated 5/27/06, adjusted clues))
Crossing the bridge, you are now on the Red Trail which climbs past
Campsites #2 thru #5. Cross the gravel road and continue climbing. You will see
a very large boulder on your left. The Purple O (Overlook) Trail climbs off to
the right. Follow the purple blazes to the Web Mt Overlook. Enjoy the view.
Find the compass painted on the overlook. (Tj's first letterbox stamp was a
compass which is included in this box.) Standing so that you are facing East, to your right (SW) you will see a large cracked boulder. Go to the boulder and follow the crack as it turns around the side of the boulder. Now walk straight ahead over a slight rise. Continuing straight, you will come to a large fallen tree. The COMPASS LETTERBOX is hidden in the tree. PLEASE, hide this box completely when you are done!

Come back down from the overlook onto the Red Trail. Across the gravel road
and back to the Troll bridge. Crossing the bridge, make sure that the Troll
bridge Letterbox is well hidden. When you step off of the bridge, take the Red
Trail to the right. You will come to a gully on your right and a four-sister
oak tree. Look to your left and you will see the faded blazes for the Blue
Trail. (This Trail in five miles will lead you to Indian Well State Park and the
Calvin and Hobbs Letterboxes. These were the first letterboxes that TJ found.)

Turn left onto the Blue trail and climb. After a short climb, you will come
upon a seven-legged tree on your left that looks like a crab ready to scurry
across the trail. Spider crabs are one of TJ's favorite critters. Imagine the
crab scurrying to your right and up the hill. The CRAB LEGS LETTERBOX is hidden
under the large rock on the hill.

Continuing on the Blue Trail, you will meet the Yellow Loop Trail. Turn
right, and you will be back at the Parking Lot in a flash. Turn left on the
Yellow Loop to search for the BONUS BOX.
Follow Yellow back through the stone wall,PAST the TOYBOX. (New blazes have been added, 11/04. So be careful.)Continue on the Yellow Trail, counting off three sets of paired yellow blazes. Walk right in between the last set of paired
yellow-blazed trees. Count 25 paces (50 steps) and you will see a small flat
triangle-shaped rock on your left. Look up the hill to a three sister tree with
one passed on. Ten feet to your left and under another flat rock is the BONUS
BOX. Swap your matchbox car with TJ. Follow the yellow trail back to your car.
