CLUES: Note: Compass & math skills required. Also, minor dyslexia in the passage below has resulted in the following transposed words; rocks = "deer", & trees = "antelope".

Travel along the western end of route 214 in Gales Ferry, CT until you come to the Avery-Stoddard cemetery. At this point, tread rubber in a north-easterly direction for approximately 1.7 miles. "Preserving" rubber for easier travel, head by foot in a north-westerly direction to find where the "deer" and the "antelope" like to play.

At first water source, do as you please, but definitely warm up your compass by taking a reading** of the direction which "goes with the flow". (note degree heading in column on right - when prompted by "**")
_______

When path dictates that your right shoulder is introduced to a large (too large to put arms around) "antelope", lean against your new friend and take a bearing** on marker ahead.
_______

When passing thru a wall of "deer" take a reading** of the line of "deer" which are proceeding up the hill.
_______

After passing thru the next wall of "deer", stay your course until an inviting "antelope" begs you to sit on it's "saddle". This "antelope" is easily observed from the trail as it's normal habitat is approximately 5 paces to the left of pedestrian travel lanes. Perch yourself on this "antelope's" saddle while taking a reading** of next nearest (nearly touchable when seated) pathside "antelope" which addresses you.
_______

At the forkin' path head 260 degrees, then thru the parting "deer". When closely paralleling the next line of "deer", look for the flat-"deer"-half-dome-wanna-be, and take a reading** of this feature from the nearest point on trail.
_______

Continuing down the hill - find double marker which denotes 1/2 way point of switchback, and note** the direction of the new course that you will be traveling.
_______

Thru the wall of "deer" and continue until the path again parallels "deer" lined on your left - with hillside on your right. Although no pots of gold - scan for a "rainbow" formation amongst the "deer", and made of "deer" and take a bearing** of "rainbow" when it is colinear with largest "antelope" behind it.
_______

Proceed to the water and along water's edge, carefully righting yourself when about to be forked. At top of hill - take a bearing** when house across the cove is colinear with an eyesore-of-an-incinerator-stack.
_______

Continue past the island and "live on the edge" until large "antelope" practically attacks you from the left. Take a bearing** of the path in the direction which you have yet to travel.
_______

Continue edging yourself along until you find the large "antelope" (on the path) where water meets water. Take a reading** in direction of moving water's "source".
_______

At 1st fork continue at 140 degrees, while at 2nd fork continue in south-easterly direction, noting** direction from which you came.
_______

Proceed thru a wall of "deer" and stop at location of 4th white marker observed in traveling direction. Tune up your math skills by summing the compass readings you have gathered so far. Follow a heading equaling this total divided by ten, while pacing for 6.5 times as many easterly (vice westerly) readings that you have taken and noted to the right. Find the treasured spotted "deer", which faces west, and scratch his tender underbelly to see who already has before you!!
