December 19, 2008 - Currently the boxes that were listed as "abandoned" under WD'A have been placed under me. Capperpillar and I have pulled some of the abandoned boxes (that were still alive) and are hoping that WD'A will come to the Gathering in January so we can help her update and re-plant her boxes. Until that time we cannot guarantee that any of her boxes are currently alive and/or what condition they are in. More details to come.

5 boxes

Directions: From I-84 exit 46 turn North onto Eagle Road, turn Left (West) onto Chinden Boulevard (Hwy 20-26), turn Right (North) onto Linder, and go down the hill. Turn Right (East) immediately after the South Channel Boise River bridge and park on the right side. Keep in mind that you are hunting thirsty foxes, not ducks. Round trip is 3+ miles from this parking spot. Parking is limited due to vigilance of the neighbors.

Description: This is a favorite riparian and fishing area and can be busy. The purpose of the hunt is to get you and your favorite hound out for some fresh air and exercise. It is wheelchair and stroller friendly. LB #1 is above the high water line as spring flooding is hazardous to it's well-being.

Box #1: If you have a favorite “Hound,” pick up a leash and pup to train. Go west to where the center of the first jump was crunched by the last powerful horse who got off course. (Note: If area construction activity picks up and this hound is in danger, he'll trot on down to wait with your Mount.)

Box #2:original box is mia and has been replanted. keep on the road walking roughly east. Go 54 steps past the 1st no parking sign (but before the 2nd).
Go off the road at the social trail to the river 20 steps.
As you face the river go eastish 35 steps (up river) your "Mount redone" can be found in this order: leaves rocks box hole in tree. Please replace so that remains an accurate clue.

Box #3: Your “Fox” has a head start now, so pick up the pace for a while. From box #2 go back to the road and head north At the next water obstacle you are fenced out, but you might catch sight of a fox if you look way upstream. There is not a box here. Continue to the split rail fence on your left, to where it begins. Your fox is in a box just under this second jump. Can you hear the hounds?

Box #4: Continue to the sound of the horn North as far as the road goes. Turn Right (East) and trot on through the Riviera and Island Village to the public land, but don’t go in. The “Vixen” is trying to go to ground at the head gate on the left. She is hiding under the rail.

Box #5: The kit has become separated, so he heads for a free meal of roe. If the hours are right (8a - 3p) visit the exhibit and rest your steed. After a good meal “Kit” takes a nap in the Maple tree on the Southwest side of the second water obstacle.

Please update me at wiresandfoxes@hotmail.com if these boxes need attention. Tally Ho!
