From Sunderland town center, head south on Rt. 116. You will pass several apartment complexes, and also a small shopping complex, which houses the 7/11, Java Hut, and several other stores. Right after this shopping area, turn left onto Clark Mountain Road (if you are coming from the south, the road is just past 7 O's and the landscaping center, to your right). Take the next left, Olanyk Road, toward the apartment buildings, and park wherever you can.
Continue up Clark Mountain Road on foot, climbing a small hill and passing by two houses. The trail takes off to the left between the second house and another, third house. It is very wide, and easy to spot.
The trail will ascend slowly, and there will be a small stream on your right. Shortly, you will come to a "T" trail intersection. Go right, and keep right past a couple more turn-offs. Just follow the dark blue trail blazes--you will be doing this until the very end of the hike. There are definitely some potentially muddy areas here, but they are all pretty easy to get around.
After about 20 - 25 minutes of hiking, you will come to a small stream, which cuts across the trail. This is the Mohawk Brook. Cross the brook using the stepping stones, or you may be able to jump over it. Then, take a turn to the right (leaving the blue-blazed trail) and follow the Brook, keeping the water on your right. After about 90 paces, you will come upon a large stump, which has a baby hemlock tree growing near its north side. It is about 7 paces from the Brook, and right about here you will have a nice view of the fields below, and the Holyoke Range in the distance.
Stand on the stump and take a compass reading of about 160 degrees. Look for a small outcropping of rocks (these rocks are Sugarloaf Arkose)--it is nicely framed by two rows of tall hemlock trees. The rocks you are seeking are about 22 paces from the stump, and you will find the box below them.
Please rehide well. Enjoy the waterfall and the view! :)
