Overview:
For a moderate effort, this 1.7 mile loop takes you to the Mount Olga Fire Tower. On a nice day this tower offers a view of four states: Vermont, New Hampshire, Massachusetts and New York.

Directions:
This box resides in Molly Stark State Park, in Wilmington, Vermont.
At www.vtstateparks.com/htm/mollystark.cfm, they will tell you from Brattleboro, take Exit #2 off of I-91, and follow Rt. 9 west for about 15 miles.

As you drive in the .1 miles to the campground from Route 9, note the trailhead on your left, pretty much across from the ranger station.
Follow this (blue dot) trail as it winds and ascends to near the top of Mount Olga, elevation 2415'. Shortly before you get to the top, you'll come to a t-branch...

Follow the left branch and quickly arrive at the fire tower. Please exercise caution ascending the tower, but enjoy the view!

When you've had your fill, descend back to the t-branch, this time taking the other branch. Follow this trail for about 43 paces (a pace is one adult left stride, and one adult right stride), to a point where the trail cuts through layered boulders on the left, and a single boulder on the right.

From this point, continue another 48 paces. Here, you should be facing pretty much due west. To your right will be a moss- and lichen covered scrabble of small boulders and rocks ascending the hillside. Look carefully about 10 to 12 feet off the trail north... Careful! ...inside one of the nooks and crannies afforded by these rocks, you may find a wolf lurking in hiding on Mount Olga! Please return and conceal the box when done. You can continue on this trail and it will loop back to return to the campground, ending up just a bit further uphill from where you started ...
