One box on a bike path, less then an hour, unless you go on to get Tubular.
From the jct. of Rt. 10 (and 202) and Rt. 20 in the center of Granby, take Rt. 20 towards Bradley International Airport. After about a mile look on your left for the brown sign that says Newgate Cooperative Wildlife Management Area, right after the sign you'll see the crosswalk for the bike path. Turn in just before the sign and park in the spacious lot.
Walk towards the trail and turn left (north) you'll see a bench right away on the left. Along the trail there are several wooden fences and just before the third one is a sign that says Caution Horse X-ing. (Notice all the lovely white birch trees in this area) After this fence watch on the right for an old telegraph pole (this pole is down). There have been several on the way here but this one is different because it's getting cozy with a tree (this is also 430 of my steps from the end of the fence) Just before the pole is a pretty pronounced path into the woods, follow this until you come to a very rotted log (now almost unrecognizable) which once crossed the trail and has now been cut to allow you to walk through. Follow the log on the right side of the trail to the end and spy an oak tree. Look behind this. Please cover well, I'm sure this is a well traveled path.
Continue on to get Tubular or go back to your car and thanks for visiting.
