Travel the north hills of Pittsburgh by way of McKnight Road. Bolster your spirits witha
beverage stop at the Starbucks at the corner of McKnight and Siebert. Got your drink? Cross
over McKnight Road while on Siebert. Pass the Eden Christian Academy on your left. Next
street to the left, past the school, is Sangree Road. Wind around on Sangree Road until you come
to Berkeley Hills Lutheran Church. Turn left into driveway and park in back parking lot. (You
have the permission of the pastor to park here) Lutherkeley Knoll trail is a short trail maintained
by Troop 181 of the Boy Scouts. Enter the trail, near the dumpster. Take the first left on the
trail. (Caution; it is hard to see this left when leaves are covering the trail) Look for the Third
bench, not the fourth bench which is very close. Sit for a spell. Stand and turn 180 degrees.
Walk approximately 50 paces. Look for a large tree with two flat stones in front of it. Facing the
tree with feet to the stones turn right and walk approximately 20 paces. Look for the tree with
the hole in the trunk. Directly below the hole is what you seek. Please cover the letterbox well
when you are done.
This is a short easy trail. Excellent for small children. Happy hunting. (This site was first placed in October... Vandalized but with help of other letterboxers replaced.) I had to change the name of this site in order to repost it.)
