This is a drive-up letterbox.

Driving Directions:

From Route 1 in North Kingstown, turn onto Essex Road (there is a stoplight here). Take the second left onto Potowomut Rd (.4 miles). You will cross a small concrete bridge (.2 miles), and shortly after look for a parking area on the left. A pond will be visible. Park Here.

Clues :

Find a two-trunked tree with signs on it. Face the signs and notice large boulders going toward the pond on the left hand side of the dirt driveway. Walk to the tenth boulder, and turn left up onto a concrete retaining wall. 69 steps should take you to the end of this concrete walkway and you will see an interesting arched bridge made from rocks spanning a brook. Retrace 10 steps to an earthen ramp and follow the ramp down to a lower level. Go 20 steps and find another earthen ramp which takes you to an even lower level. Now look for a mossy concrete area. From this area take a bearing of 40 degrees. Walk in this direction and look for Grandma's letterbox under the southeast corner of a large, flat boulder that has some rock fragments on the top. Stamp in and re-hide carefully.
