This box was placed on our way to Thanksgiving dinner in Corvallis. It's in a cute little State Park along the Luckiamute River. We saw a few people there while we were exploring, but it was very peaceful and had beautiful leaves everywhere. This is a driveby, just right for stretching your legs after a long trip.

SARAH HELMICK STATE RECREATION SITE
Sarah Helmick is located six miles south of Monmouth off Highway 99W. Helmick lies along the floodplain of the Luckiamute River and is forested in Douglas fir, grand fir, maple, ash, Port Orford cedar and cottonwood. There are two reservation picnic areas for groups up to 200 people. Electricity, water, picnic tables and restrooms are provided at each site. There is plenty of shade from the bigleaf maples that tower above you. A quiet spot to walk along the trails that border the Luckiamute River, with plenty of birds and native plant life to investigate.

To the box:
This one is a bit of a mystery, couldn't make it TOO easy on you.
I hid this box in the base of an ancient oak tree. The oak tree stands framed between two picnic tables. The river runs behind the tree. Which tree, framed between which two tables? That's for me to know and you to find out :)

Happy trails!
