The Hidden Turtle
Please help find the little turtle that has gone missing in the trees and bushes. This is a great adventure for elementary aged children and should take 15 to 20 minutes.
1. You must first start on the “truck” in the little kids’ playground at end of Flicker in Northstar Park in North Davis.
2. Take about 70 steps east to the beginning of the Northstar Nature Trail. Follow the trail, passing under 4 metal arches, until you reach the information board.
3. Next, run up the twirley slide to the highest viewpoint.
4. Look for and then go to the 4 wooden poles sticking into the air. (From the viewpoint, it looks as if there are only 3).
5. Take about 25 steps south to the dirt path. Follow the path around 2 curves.
6. Finally, look for the first small tree on the left surrounded by rosemary bushes. The turtle is hiding in the grass at the tree’s base.
Have fun and good luck!
