THE FOXY FOX
Directions : In Salem ,From Rt. 82 take Rt. 163 north for 0.3 miles . Go right on Hershler Road., sometimes the sign is missing. Go 0.2 miles on Hershler Rosd and just past the Church Kingdom Hall , there is a small place for one car. Park in front of the gate. Please only park in the Church Parking lot if you can get permission .
Enter at the gate and follow the small path.
Nice Rocks on both sides of the trail , as the path goes up a small rise
Walk for about 20 minutes [in snow and less in dry conditions ] at a slow pace and on the right trail side take notice of an interesting kissing tree. But wait ~ a few steps further along you will see yet another larger kissing tree. How did that happen.?? Now notice a large flat rock on the left Here the trail makes a sort of ‘Y’ We made a small cairn to mark this ‘intersection as these trail are not blazed yet. Turn right off the main trail onto a wide path and soon begin to go up a small hill. Notice both sides of the trail are lined with stones. Perhaps it was a road long ago. As you reach the top of the rise, stop at a twin sister oak on the right side of the trail. The FOXY FOX is hiding in a small ridge to the right about 30 steps at 300 degrees. A small tree hugs this ledge.
Please move the stones carefully and re hide well.
Return down the path to the main trail and continue along for the other treasures here at Milo Light, or turn left and walk about 10 minutes back to your car.
I hope you have enjoyed the lovely woods here
