The box is in Sabino Canyon Recreation Area (USFS) a little northeast of Tucson. Take Tanque Verde Road east. Turn north on Sabino Canyon Road and take it all the way to entrance of Sabino Canyon Recreation Area on your right. There is a fee to park (if you do not have an annual or national recreation pass).

Walk to the southeast side of the parking lot to the fancy fieldstone entrance for the Bear Canyon Trailhead. Go east on the dirt Bear Canyon Trail. When you arrive at the paved Bear Canyon Road, turn right and continue east on the paved road. At the restrooms turn right and continue on Bear Canyon road over Sabino Creek; after crossing the bridge turn right and continue on Bear Canyon road. At the end of the paved road (Shuttle Stop 3 sign) (road continues as a dirt road), on the left is a Bear Canyon Trail sign. Walk up this dirt trail for about 21 steps. Turn right on the Bear Canyon/7 Falls Trail. Walk up the trail for about 74 steps to where the trail is on the top of a low ridge. From the center of the trail at this high point on the trail (next to a very small Saguaro cactus on south side of trail which is next to a large multi-armed Saguaro), go off trail at about 250 degrees (from mag. north) for about 43 steps to 2 Saguaro cactus (one on left is tall with no arms and one on right is shorter and has 3 arms) (you will have to go around and over some cactus and bushes to get to them directly!). From the right Saguaro go at about 5 degrees (from mag. north) for about 50 steps to a small rock ledge next to a small Palo Verde tree (you will have to go around and over some cactus and bushes to get to it directly!). The box is under the northeast side of the rock ledge and behind some stacked flat rocks and some twigs. Folks, this is a wilderness area with its inherent dangers; so, do be alert for snakes, scorpions, mountain lions, and rabid foxes, skunks, coyotes and bobcats!

Please be sure the contents are double ziplocked when you put them back in the box (i.e. the stamp is in a ziploc, the book is in a ziploc, and the two are in the larger ziploc bag). Please rehide the box well under rocks and twigs so that it can not be seen from any direction.

Enjoy the views: to the northeast you are looking up Bear Canyon; to the south is the greater Tucson basin; to the southeast are the Rincon Mountains; to the far south side of the basin are the Santa Rita Mountains; and to the far west side of the basin are the Tucson Mountains.
