CLUES UPDATED AND BOXES ADDED 1/2/05

Lord Hill Regional Park is a great place for hiking, biking, or horseback riding. It can be a bit muddy at times after heavy rains, and there are some gentle hills. You can pick up a single box by walking 2-3 miles, but it's closer to 6 miles if you want to get them all. Be sure to look for the Beaver Letterbox too while you're here - it's well worth your time. Stay out of the closed areas - none of the boxes are hidden there. Leashed dogs are welcomed. A map is extemely helpful, so download one before you go.

Gray Warbler
Take the thin line to the Twins. Just before you emerge at their feet, there's a fat green snake guarding the trail on the right. Carefully look inside his open mouth, while repeating the words "Good Snakey... Nice Snakey."

California Quail
About a hundred thousand millimeters up from the river a gigantic stump nurses a couple of new trees on the east side of the trail. Around back, check the top.

Enjoy this great park and my hand-carved stamps. The birds are wonderful, so bring your binoculars. There was a Blue Grouse sitting on the Main Path when I was out planting. Email me if the boxes need attention or to tell me of your find.
