*** THIS IS NOT THE EVENT BOX LISTING. YOU CAN FIND THE EVENT BOX LISTING ON AQ AS "ET PHONE HOME - SURVIVOR" The actual letterbox for this listing needs to be recarved and replanted. I will provide an update after the holidays!***

This letterbox is located in what the locals call "E.T. Park." The chase scene (the one with E.T. riding in the basket of Elliot's bike) was filmed at this park and in the surrounding neighborhoods.

To get to this park (I think it's officially called Porter Park, or something similar), take the 118 Freeway (from either direction) and exit at Reseda. Go north on Reseda toward the hills. The end of Reseda is intersected by Sesnon St. At this intersection, you'll see the park on the north side of Sesnon.

Park your car on Sesnon, and walk toward the playground. Find the large caterpillar. This caterpillar was actually in the movie (look for it the next time you watch the movie). Stand on the caterpillar as if you were riding it and look in the same direction as the caterpillar is. Now imagine a line projecting out from the caterpillar's eyes to form its "line of sight." Walk across the grass toward Sesnon along the line of sight of the caterpillar. Eventually you will come to where the lawn slopes down to Sesnon St. Stop here and while you're facing the street, you should see a concrete drainage path to your left. Turn left and walk up the hill on the grass (do not take the concrete path). Walk up the hill, past the basketball court, which should be on your left. As soon as you pass the basketball court, you will see a second concrete drainage path on your right. Walk along the drainage path. Halfway along this path, you will pass a pipe that intersects the path. Be careful not to trip on it, and once you pass it, you'll see that the path curves to the left. Keep following this path until you come to the end of it (there is a bunch of shrubbery at the end). When you get to the end of the path, you should be facing a pink house in the distance. At your feet on the right "bank" of the path, you'll see some green grafitti. The letterbox is located there underneath the concrete path, with another concrete rock propped up against it.

Please rehide well and let me know how the box is doing! Thanks!
