From I-5 N and I-5 S turn left at the light at the bottom of the off-ramp. This will put you onto Harvard Avenue.

-Go straight on Harvard

-Your last major lighted intersection is Stewart Parkway

-Continue straight through this light, when possible change into your right lane.

-The road becomes two-lanes and becomes windy. Please drive carefully. The river will be on the right of your vehicle. At this point Harvard Avenue has become Old Melrose Road. Continue on Old Melrose Road.

-4.3 miles from Stewart Parkway intersection, driving on Old Melrose Road will bring you to a stop sign, intersecting with Melrose Road, turn left (W)

-Continue on Melrose Road. Melrose School is on your left, Country store is on your right, a church is on your left, at this point the road will curve to the left at a 35 mph corner, continue on this corner. Ahead of this is a 35 mph curve to the right, take that and continue up the hill. The Melrose Cemetary is on your left.

-A sign indicating a right turn will be on your right. Get into the right turn lane at Doerner Road and turn right. This will be 3.1 miles from the Old Melrose/Melrose intersection.

-Continue on this road, through the right-turn intersection. Stay on Doerner Road.

-Road Narrows and becomes windy be careful.

-Road curves on a 10 mph curve, almost 2 miles after you turn onto Doerner Road. Take the curve, it becomes Callahan Rd.

-Continue on Callahan Road, almost 2 miles after the turn onto Callahan Road, it becomes a one way for about twenty feet due to a slide in years past. Be careful.

-around 3.4 miles from the turn off of Callahan Road the road curves to the left. At this point (before the curve) and straight in front of the curve is an area that has been cleared to allow for a dirt road to wind through the trees. There are large trees in this dirt area, but no shrubbery in the middle. Get off the main road and park your car here, preferrably on the already cleared dirt road.

-ahead of you will be one large tree, with a faded sign that once said no campfires hanging at the top of it. Stand directly under this sign, facing the valley/the view area of the mountain top.

-Turn a complete 90 degree angle and you will see a large lone tree with the remnants of a stump at its base, on the left. It is roughly 20 paces ahead.

-Walk to this tree

-Standing on the side of the tree, opposite the stump, facing the valley/view area you will be able to see, off to the left of your sight line is a fallen tree that forms an "A" shape (upside down "V") as it has cracked and fallen to the ground.

-Walk 30-32 paces to touch the pointy end of this fallen log.

-Stand between the fallen log and the tree behind it. You will be standing on a "shelf" formed by the root of the trees. Under this shelf, agains the base of the standing tree is a pile of rocks.

-Remove the rocks, and discover the Easter Joy Letterbox!

- Take in the view! It is extraordinary!
