Sighting celebrates a creature seen during a birthday walk several years back. There are other letterboxes hidden at Mt Pisgah park, so this could be a bonus box to add on, or another excuse to visit. This walk is short (unless you choose to wander after) and on all flat trails. Bring your own ink pad.

For those who frequent the park: locate the "Do Good Deeds" bench, walk 23 paces upstream to find the "old stump being eaten by a new stump". Walk between "twins" to find the box inside a very old stump overlooking the river. You'll be stepping off the path so be careful. Our justification is that there's no plant matter here. Rehide well.

For those who need more directions: Park in the Mt Pisgah's lower lot (small park fees apply during summer season), cross little bridge to enter walking area, locate the bathroom buildings, but cross over the little bridge before approaching the bathrooms.

Stay on the right trail called "River front".
Keep right. Hear the river yet?
Pass bench, bench, double bench....
Sit "both ways" at the "Do Good Deeds" bench.
Walk 23 paces upstream to find the "old stump being eaten by a new stump" on the right side. (hitting a gravel path= too far)
Look past the stump to the river, and walk between "twins" to find the box inside a very old stump (overlooking the river). You'll be stepping off the path so be careful. Our justification is that there's not plant matter here. Rehide well.
