*CURRENTLY DISABLED... lightning struck the box's home! It will soon be in a new place*

I trust you have found “Gretna #1”… good luck for #2!
A bit of history:
This site was an important one for the beginning of the town of Gretna (given the name "Gretna" for "Gretna Green" in Dumfriesshire, Scotland, the home of some of the Scottish residents). It is the location of the first cemetery and first schoolhouse.
This cemetery was the LaBorde family cemetery, with the first burial taking place in 1875. It is now a public cemetery, operated by the LaBorde Cemetery Association. It is located at 204th and Highway 370 on the east edge of Gretna, immediately below the water tower. It is a small cemetery and well maintained. Those buried in the old Snell Cemetery were moved to the LaBorde Cemetery in the 1930's due to highway construction. Another one of the numerous family cemeteries located in Sarpy County, it was a burial place for members of the J.D. Snell family and was located on the family farm. In the 1930's a new highway that would later become US Highway 6. The right of way passed through the Snell farm and through the cemetery, so the remains were disinterred and moved to the LaBorde Cemetery on the east edge of Gretna. These individuals are buried in the Snell family lot in LaBorde Cemetery, Lot 09 S. I encourage you find this lot- it is interesting to see once you understand the history behind the names.
The first school was located across the road from the LaBorde Cemetery just outside town. Between 1887-89, this one-room building was moved to a lot in Gretna. A brick building replaced it in 1898, and in subsequent years, grades 10 and 11 were added. In 1910, when the building was doubled in size, a complete full 12-year system was offered. An auditorium and gym was built in 1936, at which time the newspaper noted, "...dedication of this building is a sign that Gretna is beginning to crawl out of its shell." A number of new schoolhouses have been constructed since then.

To the box’s location:
If you are coming on I-80 take the Gretna exit and turn right onto 370 towards Gretna. The cemetery is located beneath the water tower- which has a dragon on it. Don’t ask about the dragon. I don’t understand it either.

Pull in on the gravel, park at the pole
you can rest on the bench, ‘neath the tree that is ol’.
Look forward and see where our friend “Sam” rests
what day was he born, in march? don’t forget-
With this number in hand take those steps to your right
stop just in time or hit walls you just might!
venture forward and pass a Keuehn and a Fox
be careful and watch or you’ll trip on Fred’s box.
Straight ahead you’ll find William, with a familiar last name
Turn right and you’ll walk, between roof and chain.
Alone straight ahead you’ll see three trees
you’ll find one ashamed, beneath the other’s tall leaves.
Under the last tree you’ll see our dear box
please cover when finished or this box might get lost!
