This box is an easy one-- nearly a drive by (less than 1/2 mile round trip!). It is in a favorite place for me and the kids to plane watch...

Take the Millbrae Avenue exit off Highway 101 and head east, towards the bay. This avenue ends on Bayshore Road; turn right. Be alert, on the left (bay) side of the street and at the northern end of the Marriott Hotel parking lot is a small, separated lot marked "Public Shore Parking" which is reserved for Bay Path access. Park your car there. If you get to Mitten Road, you have gone too far.

After exiting your car, find the paved footpath and face SFO airport. Proceed right (toward the south) on the path, and you will see on the left side of the path (the bay side): two trees, one tree, three trees. After this, again on the bay side of the path, you will see a line of eight very large rocks. Wedged at the base between the third and fourth rock is your prize. Watch the planes whiz by as you stamp in. Vroom!! Be as discreet as possible and re-hide very carefully.

Consider walking further down this path (I like the north direction) to get a closer look at some of the shorebirds; binoculars are fun to use to look at the birds and the planes as well! Path is stroller, kid, and dog friendly.
