05/30/07: Despite two missing reports, Magnetic Park is indeed alive and well!
Magnetic Park was created in the 1870's on the former site of a grist mill. The park received its name from a natural spring on the property. The water from the spring has a magnetic quality and was a popular spot to fill water bottles by individuals caught up in the health craze in the late part of the 19th and early 20th centuries. The water had suppositively curative and medicinal properties. Water still flows from the well today and over 700,000 gallons flow every 24 hours.
Also on the grounds of Magnetic Park is the Plymouth Conservation Clubhouse. Built as a WPA project in the 1930's it is still used today for club meetings and small gatherings.
Clues:
From Michigan Street, turn EAST on Jackson Street. About a block down you will come to the Conservation Clubhouse on your right and a parking lot. Park here and walk down the hill to the gazebo where the spring is located. Stand on the side of the spring opposite of where the water is flowing (roughly facing N). Take a reading of 90 degrees and walk 25 paces to a tree. From the tree, take a reading of 10 degrees and walk 25 more paces to another tree. From this tree, take a reading of 280 Degrees and walk 13 paces to the tree that hides the treasure around back.
PLEASE be aware that muggles live across the street and rehide better than you found it!
PS: This box is wrapped in camo tape and is FLAT. Make sure that the check the hidey hole well, as some have actually found the hole, but couldn't find the box because it was hidden so well!
