Armadillo Jo LOVES candy! She is a huge fan of candy of all kinds, Pez, Blow Pops, Lemonheads, Mike and Ikes, Skittles....YUM! So she was hanging out at Target one day and found some pretty cute candy- themed notebooks. Thus, the Candy Girl series was born.

To get some candy (NOTE: not real candy silly, but some candy of the hand-carved kind):

Make your way to Chain O' Lakes State Park, which is located on SR 9 three miles south of Albion, IN. Get a map (or if you're going in winter, print one off here: http://www.state.in.us/dnr/parklake/parks/chainolakes.html ) There is a fee of $4 May-October, during the winter months it's usually free.

Head to the Schoolhouse Nature Center on the far end of the park. Park in the parking lot across the street. Check out the nature center, it's an old school house! After you're done checking things out, find the Trail 8 trailhead located on the North side of the nature center.

Follow the trail down the hill. Shortly, you will come across a small side trail that circles a small pond on the right. Follow this small trail a few steps and you will see a small stump and fallen tree on the right. In between the stump and the tree you will find some HOT TAMALES covered in bark. (This one may be missing. We've had several missing reports)

Go back to the main trail and continue up a hill to a crossroads. Take a right and go down a hill. You'll see a 5-trunked tree trailside on the right. There's a BLOW POP in there somewhere around back.

Get back on the trail and continue onward. You'll be heading up hill, down a steep grade, and you'll come to a post with the number 8 on the right side of the trail. From this post, take a reading of 210 degrees. This heading points to a stag with a skinny twin behind it. Down in the bottom of the stage you'll find a big ole TOOTSIE ROLL covered in bark.

Back on the main trail, head downhill past some log piles on both sides of the trail. The trail heads uphill and again you'll reach a crossroads. Keep heading left and continue up a steep grade. Have a break on the bench at the top. Keep going and you'll come to the first crossroads. Take a right and you'll be back at your car in a snap!

Make sure you put all of the bark back correctly!
