Dragonfly

The dragonfly loves to visit the Oceanfront Litchfield Inn at Litchfield Beach, South Carolina. The Inn is located off Highway 17 about 20 miles south of Myrtle Beach. You turn towards the beach (that would be a right turn if you are heading North from Georgetown, a left if you are heading South from Myrtle Beach) off of Hwy 17 onto Litchfield Drive (which turns into Norris Drive as it curves past the front of the Inn.) This turn is marked by a big Eagles Resortwear sign and a Subway restaurant sign at the corner. There are also typically numerous billboards along this stretch of Hwy 17 from both directions directing you to the Litchfield Inn. The dragonfly loves to take time to look at the beautiful oyster beds and coastal herons along Litchfield Drive leading to the Inn.
One day after a lot of sunbathing by the ocean, the dragonfly flew away from the Litchfield Inn back towards Hwy 17. He didn’t get far, however. Just past the Litchfield Inn entrance sign, he began to feel sleepy. (Too much sun can be very draining!) He headed for a triangular patch of vegetation marked by a sign saying: “We love Litchfield. Please keep it beautiful.” He looked at the sign and decided to take a nap in the shade of the woods behind the sign. He flew to the left of the sign and entered the woodsy patch to his right through the first open area and went to sleep under a nearby tree on the right. He marked his napping place with three logs.
