** 2/6/10 Unfortunately, the first two boxes of this series were found empty. The third box was intact, but I have decided to retire the series. Luckily, the log book was still in place and I was able to read all of the wonderful comments.**

~Birthday Presents For Butterfly~

This series of three boxes is located at the Avery Tract Land Trust in Quaker Hill, CT. They were placed in honor of one of the most wonderful boxer's birthday.

There is only one log book in this series and it is in the third and final box of the series. Also, there are no ink pads. We strongly recommend bringing markers with you.

Directions: (borrowed from the clues to Avery Tract series)
Route 32 to Scotch Cap Road (waterside). From New London this is a right-hand turn and from Montville this is a left-hand turn at the light. Park on the left-hand side of the road, across from the mailboxes marked 65-61-63. Proceed up the stone "steps" and you will see a sign board and also a box with maps. We suggest that you take one, especially if you are seeking all the boxes here.

Clues:
We have found that there are a few things that are dear to Butterfly's heart and we are trying to give her a little piece of some of them.
Proceed on the red trail until you come to your first 'Y'. At this intersection go left (uphill). When you reach the top of the hill and the trail bends to the right, stop. Look left and you will see a large rock on top of the ledge. Go to it. On the south side, north of a tree, under a rock you will find box #1 Hiking. Please be careful of the prickers. There are a lot here.
After stamping in, go back to the trail and return back to the 'Y' intersection. This time take the path not yet traveled (left). Follow this to the next intersection and go right with red. At the next intersection go left again, but this time you will be on yellow. Walking on yellow you will pass through/over a stone wall. Once you cross this wall stop. Turn left and walk twenty steps. You will find box #2 Maps low in the wall.
After stamping in, continue on yellow until you find another stone wall that crosses the path. Do not go through this wall, but stop and turn left. Walk seventeen steps along the wall, and behind a couple of rocks you will find box #3 Wild Flowers.
After stamping in you can either return the way you came or continue on. If you picked up a map and want to do the rest of the boxes here you are in for a wonderful treat. We hope you enjoyed yourself. This is a beautiful place to hike.

Happy Birthday Butterfly!!!
