Festival of the Winds: TEMPORARLY REMOVED
This Letterbox is the first in a series I will be placing in the city of Marina. Marina is a bedroom community north of Monterey. The town host a number of wind sports. Marina has a annual Festival of the Winds. You might get lucky and be in the area letterboxing that weekend.
Take Hwy 1 South, then take the Marina, Reservation Rd. exit, continue on Reservation for about 3 miles. As your leaving town, you will come to Imjin Parkway make a left at stoplight. Follow Imjin Rd. until you see a sign that says Sculpture Habitat on your left, park in the parking lot on left just after sign. You will see a path that will lead you through the Sculpture Habitat take it. Now I want you to find the sculpture of the leggless woman. When you've found her take 10 steps directly behind her into some oak trees, look for a hollow in the oaks about waist high. It should have a piece of bark in hollow to hide the letterbox. After logging in please replace bark. If your lucky you might see some skydivers on your hunt.
If you feel like lunch Marina has a couple of good resturants. Sarita's, located on Reservation Rd. in the El Rancho Center. Or Try Michaels blackened shrimp soft taco's located behind McDonalds off Reservation Rd.
