Your search for this letterbox starts at Ancient Cemetery in Yarmouth Port.

You may want to read through all the clues in case there is something you need to look up before you set out.

From Route 6, take Exit 8. Head towards Union Street (Yarmouth Port.) Go to the end of the road, there is an intersection with a flashing light and a Getty gas station in front of you. You are taking a left onto Route 6A, then an immediate right onto Old Church Street. Follow it to the stop sign at the end. On the way you will pass Essex Road on the right, which is the entrance to Whaling Port.

Bear right at the stop sign onto Center Street (there is no sign for Center Street.)

Take the first left onto Ancient Way just past the cemetery.

Park at the little white building in the cemetery on the left.

Go in the opening near the building and walk past 14 fence posts. Find the grave in the section nearest the 14th fence post next to a small stone plot marker with number 895 on it. On the front, it reads Mary C. Dolencie. Note the difference in the years on the grave. Now, read the back of the stone.

You will need to find a hidden number using this clue:
Fourth letter of first
Tenth of second
Seventeenth of third
First of fourth
Fourth of fifth
Nothing from the sixth

Turn around and go forward to Henry and Vivian Baker’s headstones. While facing the stones, look toward the right. You are going to follow the road you see through the two trees. Continue along this road even as it becomes paved to the end. Look to your left and you will see a short length of split rail fence. Walk to it and then count eight granite fence posts after the last wooden post including the one that is fallen. You will reach a broken post with a path next to it. Now you need to do a little math.

Start with the number of years between the Red Sox’s fifth and sixth World Series championships. Subtract the difference in the years you found on the grave. Add the hidden number to this.

Continuing on the road (not down the path), count this many granite fence posts. The Curses! Letterbox is behind that post and under some leaves and a slab of rock.
