== 6/4/07 Not there. May be replanted if the mood strikes

Difficulty - simple
Time – 30 minutes to box and back. Longer if you want to do the whole trail
Distance – I guess I need to start wearing a pedometer. Either that or take this info line off my boxes.

From Route 10 in Avon, Connecticut turn onto Old Farms Road. Drive approximately 2.5 miles to the Fisher Meadows Trail Head. You will pass the other end of this trail, some soccer fields, and the beautiful Avon Old Farms prep school. The trail head and parking are on your right. Also, the sign is ever so slightly after the entrance, so when you hit 2.5 miles, slow down a bit.

Park.

Head down the path. When you reach the “T ” junction, turn right and follow the path toward Fisher Meadows. Walk 5 or ten minutes until you see a giant granddad of a tree with a metal and orange fence right after it. (The fence is metal with some orange paint. There are no oranges here.)

From the fence continue down the trail, counting 31 paces (62 steps). Turn right onto the small unmarked trail. Count off ten paces and look to your left. The treasure is at the base of the four-trunked tree.

I planted this in a downpour, so if the box is too visible when it’s dry, please make adjustments so that it’s covered. Thanks. rtrw
