Difficulty:
1/4 mile easy hike, one way. You'll be walking around, through, and over rocks and boulders. Watch your footing.

Directions:
From Moab, head north on Highway 191 a few miles. Turn right onto Highway 128. (If you cross the bridge over the river, you've gone too far.) Follow this road up the canyon (making sure to enjoy the incredible views!) until you get to mile marker 5. Pull over into the small parking area. From here you will see a trail heading up the canyon. This is your starting point!

Clues:
I'm searching. Always searching. All over the world I roam.
I've come from Middle-earth to look. I am very far from home.

I am searching for the Entwives, for I am an Ent, you see.
They have been gone for many years now, the most beautiful of trees.

I've traveled far from home to explore your beautiful land.
I have not seen anything like this. The red rocks and matching sand.

Come and join me on my quest. Come on up, enjoy the view.
Rocks and boulders block the path, just wind your way on through.

From where you parked, you'll see a path. Up the canyon it leads.
I'm only 1/4 mile up. Take your time, no need to speed.

You'll see a boulder field with one large house-sized rock.
You must go up around these, for the pathway they do block.

Not much farther beyond these rocks, keep looking, I am real.
When you look between two boulders, I will be revealed.

I understand you are searching too, but for a box with a stamp inside.
I will help you find it. . .underneath me it resides.

Just go directly below me, under the rocks I'm maneuvering around.
Move some smaller rocks aside, and the box you have found!

Note: Remember you are in the desert! Bring plenty of water and sunscreen with you.

Handcarved stamp and journal.
