UPDATE: 11/26/13
* Box 1 has been replaced and there are new clues to the new location.
* Box 2 is still intact and has been there for since 2005!
* Box 3 - the stamp is replaced and is ready for stamping up!

* This letterbox series was adopted by "mcfam" in January of 2011. Adoption is a great way to keep letterboxes alive and well for all of us. We encourage you to adopt a local letterbox. There is a link for adoptable boxes on the homepage of lbna.org *
* We tried to stay true to the original clues and theme of this letterbox series. The second box is the original carving and logbook from the original planter. The 1st and 3rd boxes were missing and had to be replaced. The 1st box is in a slightly new location due to the changing of the landscaping *

DIRECTIONS:

The Alfred Hitchcock Letterboxes are hidden in Heritage Hill Historical Park, 25151 Serrano Road, Lake Forest, CA. The park is open 9am-5pm Wednesday-Sunday.

NOTE: Many well-mannered and thoughtful letterboxers obtain permission from the management before hiding letterboxes in places like this park.

We, sadly, are not among them. So be discrete, and don’t let anyone know there are boxes about, or they won’t last long!

THE CLUES

Good evening…

To find the three Alfred Hitchcock letterboxes, you will have to identify some lines of dialogue from some famous Hitchcock scripts. The setting where these snippets of dialogue take place will help you find each letterbox.

BOX ONE--
JO
When I grew up and fell in love
I asked my sweetheart
What lies ahead
Will we have rainbows
Day after day
Here's what my sweetheart said

Que sera, sera
Whatever will be, will be
The future's not ours to see
Que sera, sera
What will be, will be

Find the historical piece which is the newest addition (as of Nov. 2013) to the Heritage Hill collection. Look under the place where Dr. McKenna would wash his hands.

BOX TWO--
MELANIE
We’ve got to get the children out
of here. These big windows…
there’s no way to board them up.

Find the place that corresponds to this scene. Go in the door on the right side. The letterbox is hidden on the underside of the display case.

BOX THREE--
SCOTTIE
...We stood there and I kissed her
for the last time. And she said, "If you
lose me, you'll know that I loved you --

JUDY
(Pleading)
Scottie --

Find the place in the park that corresponds to this dialogue, and go inside. The box is hidden (by magnet) on the green post office window. (Yes, the letterbox is hidden on the letterbox!)
