Just rec'd an email that no box was to be found...maybe the poison oak finally gobbled it up? Will try and replace someday. Boo hoo. This one lasted quite some time. If someone finds it after all and it's not missing, please let me know. (7/8/09)
According to a recent visitor, the hole is cleared up now of the poison oak. Another visitor had said there was lots of poison oak. Just be prepared, eh. =)

Those are simply some driving directions I've found to get you started. I searched for history on the school, but found none. If you indeed do, let me know and I'll attach the link as well.
Okay, onto the clues:
You're looking for school house #1 in a series I've started. This one is located in the Huasna Townsite, which is pronouced WAHZ-NA in case you aren't familiar. I believe the name comes from a Native American "princess".
Once you find townsite sign, make a right and continue to the old school house, which is now privately owned. Find the flagpole in front. Stand directly in front of it. Walk 75 paces back to the main rod. Turn right walking 35 more to the right. On your right, you will see a tree with a nice hole in it. There you will find the letterbox. Please be sure to rehide it well, and close it tightly to avoid damage. Email me if you've discovered alive and well or if you get lost/stuck! Alright class, now back to work.
