Empress Luci was getting hungry as she drove on Germantown Parkway. As she pulled into Chick-fil-A she found a long line. Hmmmmmm she parks over in the big parking lot next to the Chick-fil-A and walks over to the restaurant. Hey...........there's a trail over there. Maybe she should go for a walk before she chows down.

She notices a trail map on her left and heads towards Electric Overlook. At the overlook, she looks over the solar panel and reads up on the other energy sources. She makes a note of the minimum wind speed needed to produce electricity with the wind turbines. Better move along now. More to see out here.

She continues in the same direction and comes to a new path that goes around some downed trees on the old path. How odd. Build a path around instead of clearing out trees on the old one. Hmmm

After crossing a bridge with iron railings, she turns to the right. Check out that pond on the left. Nice ducks and herons there sometimes. Even a couple of deer are over on the other bank alarming the ducks.

She keeps walking along.

When she comes to the next water there are benches off to the left and a covered well. This is Aquifer Island. Well, how interesting.

She reads up on the water stuff then goes over to the well.

With her back to the well, she takes paces straight ahead - - the number of paces that the wind needs to blow for the turbines.

When you gets there, she finds an umbrella behind the tree on her left. Thinking others would enjoy this, she puts it in a little box and leaves it there in a little box neatly hidden.

Be careful of other park visitors. If others are out and about or even sitting on the benches here. You can just take a rest yourself, tie your shoes, give compass lessons or something until the coast is clear.

Please replace the box carefully and try not to wear down a path so that it won't fall into the wrong hands.

Enjoy!

There are other wonderful areas of this park if you continue in the direction you came. There is also parking on Wolf River Blvd but it is limited and also hard to spot if you don't know where it is. If you park there, you will need to just find your way to Aquifer Island and do wind turbine research prior or else walk over to the Electric Overlook.
