The Lasalle Fish and Wildlife Area used to be a State Park, but is now open for outdoor recreation. The area was named after Robert Cavalier, Sieur de LaSalle, one of the first western explorers of the area. The Kanakaee River valley used to be a huge marsh, but was diminished due to dredging and channeling of the river. This area preserves some of the original marshland.
Note: Hunters are afoot. Wear bright clothing!

CLUES:
Enter the Lasalle Fish and Wildlife Area from US 41, just north of SR 10. You will see a sign that says "PUBLIC ACCESS SITE". Turn on this road to enter the area. Shortly after you enter the area, you will come to a turn out on your right. Park here and stand in the middle of the 3rd and 4th "white" post. Take a reading of 320 degrees and you will see a dying tree. Around back, at the base you will find a leaf-covered hidey-hole with your prize.

Be sure to explore the area! I wanted to plant this near the access site, but there were WAY too many people fishing...in the middle of winter! It's a beautiful area to enjoy birds, wildlife. I'm going to assume that since this is a marsh area, you should take precautions in the summer months and bring plenty of mosquito repellent.
