The Chase

Dog, Cat and Mouse

There is a park in Spokane named for a street in France. In the meadow on the cement bandstand an owner of a dog, cat and mouse released them to play. However when released they began to chase each other into the woods.

Dog Chasing Cat:
The dog took off after the cat up the paved trail, there was a fork, left or straight, they ran straight. Next to the first skinny tree after the fork the dog got a thorn in his paw. He limped 29 steps and found a "cave" to the right of the trail a few rocks up and covered the hole with some pieces of bark for privacy. The Dog got lonely, he ran away twice. So now he has gone to live with the mouse.

Cat Chasing Mouse:
The cat continued to chase the mouse up the trail. They ran all the way to the waterfall(not running in winter). Then turned back. They took a drink and took a rest and ran up the gravel path. They saw a bark path on the left and ran up it. They passed the drum circle and ran into another gravel path. The Cat was getting tired from the meetup of gravel and bark he went 31 steps and looked to the right of the trail. turning right he went 8 steps off the trail to a rock with a bush next to it. Loose rocks hide his resting place.

Mouse stands alone:
The mouse was also getting tired, so he ran back the way he came, back down the bark path, at the bottom of the bark path he stopped and turned to look a little to his left and found two boulders, this was a perfect hidding place, in case the cat came looking for him.
