Monument Circle (reported missing)
This handcarved stamp sort of evolved as it was being carved and I realized as I was nearing completion that it was starting to look like a war medal. Blue and black are the colors that I think accent this stamp nicely. Going for Spring Ahead from here is recommended and in keeping with the medal theme (at the Indiana War Memorial tho Spring Ahead itself is not related specifically to the memorials.)
Find your way to Monument Circle in the heart of Indianapolis (Meridian and Market streets). I suggest parking north of the circle, perhaps near the Indiana War Memorial and making it a round trip for the two stamps.
Once on the circle climb the southside steps. Turn around and take a reading of about 150 degrees. In this direction you should see a 5 1/2 ft domed concrete marker with flowers carved around it. Just to the left of it will be a large metallic pole with a chain attached. At the base of the cement structure, on its north side will be a camo tape covered baggy hidden well in the ivy ground cover. Inside is the container with the stamp. Although there were quite a few people around, no one really seemed to pay much attention. I pretended to be interested in the flower carvings. Once found, you might need to leave the immediate area, perhaps head to the Starbucks or the Chocolate shop on the circle itself. Please be discreet and rehide well in the ivy. Please contact me if found and let me know the condition. Thanks.
