This box was made on January 23, 2005. On that day, Cape Cod was being walloped by a blizzard. It was placed three weeks later after the snow had melted somewhat. We placed it near this golf course because it has one of the best sledding hills in Yarmouth.

Directions to the bike path:

From Route 6, take Exit 8. Head towards Station Avenue (South Yarmouth). At the second set of lights, take a right. There is a Sunoco at the corner. This is Old Townhouse Road. Go to the end of Old Townhouse to the four way stop. In front of you is Bayberry Hills Golf Course. Go straight. You will drive past a white striped bicycle crossing that leads to the entrance of the bike path. You can park at the first lot on the left and walk to the path.

Begin to count at the bicycle path’s stop sign
Fifty-four at the caution means your pace is fine.

Follow the trail before dusk or in the morning
Until you reach a second driving range warning.

Four “No Bicycle” signs are along your track
And a stop sign on which the word faces back.

Walk paces that equal the number of snowflake sides times a score,
At 5 skinny trees in a circle, you’ll walk 28 more.

The letterbox sits amid 3 big oaks standing tall
Beware of people looking for a lost golf ball.

This frosty treasure has been hidden so all will know
That in the winter of 5, we were buried in snow.

Those kids and teachers who prayed for snow days too soon,
Sadly have to attend school through the end of June!

It Stops Here is further down this path.
