****06/07 I just tried to check on this box and found that the path is not passable without touching poison ivy. I think it is there, but is unavailable until a frost.****

Bass Hole is a favorite of locals on Cape Cod. It does, however, see a lot of signs go missing. If you tread carefully you should be able to find this box without walking in poison ivy.

To get there take Exit 8 on Route 6. Head towards Union Street (Yarmouth Port.) Go to the end of the road, there is an intersection with a flashing light and a Getty gas station in front of you. You are taking a left onto route 6A, then an immediate right onto Old Church Street. Follow it to the stop sign at the end. Bear right onto Center Street (there is no sign for Center Street.) Follow this to the end and bear a left. Signs will point you towards the beach.

Park at the parking lot and walk towards the boardwalk which is to the left of the beach. Count the number of benches at the beginning of the boardwalk. Subtract the number of benches you find at the end of the boardwalk. It was blocked off when we went but you can still see them, though keep in mind that there is one against the left wall. Add to the difference the number of rungs on the ladder to the lifeguard stand on the beach.

Now, go to the memorial rock with the flagpole. You should be facing the parking lot. Walk straight across it, past the Y tree, towards the playground. Head towards the climbing spider, looking for the two candy canes missing their stripes. These mark the opening to the path you will take. Walk on the path going to the right of the cedar ahead.

Stroll down the path to a clearing with a large oak tree with a small cedar friend. Turn left and then walk straight through two tall cedars. Walk the number of steps equal to the math problem from earlier. Stop and turn to the left, then walk straight following the somewhat overgrown path to your left, 8 steps in. Turn to your right. You will be facing two tall evergreens. Your treasure is hidden in the leftmost one in the trunk.
