Cibolo

It has been many years since man has seen Cibolo in this area. Rumor has it that you might find Cibolo hiding in Jackson Nature Park.

Jackson Nature Park is located on CR 401 about 2 miles south of Stockdale. The park is open Wednesday through Sunday from 9:00AM until dusk.

Park and begin at the trailhead on the Entry Trail.

After finding Sun Snake’s Rickity Old House; get back on the Entry Trail heading South.

When you get to the intersection of the Entry Trail and Jimmy’s Loop, go to the right (SW). Stay on Jimmy’s Loop, the trail will eventually turn Northward. Stay with the trail until you come to a sign warning of a narrow trail.

Place your compass on the top of the sign post and look at 268 degrees.
About ¾ of the way up the hill and about 75’ away is a tree about 8” in diameter. The box is on the far side of that tree, covered with leaves, bark and sticks.

To get to the tree, look just to the left of the heading and the hillside is open, climb the hill to a small game trail and turn towards the tree on the game trail. The tree will be about 30’ ahead and on the left (uphill) side. Please recover well and let me know the status of this box if you find it.

The shortest way back to the parking lot is to continue following the trail.

*****Be watchful for snakes, as well as other wild animals, thorny bushes and cactus. I would not attempt this box without substantial shoes, long pants and gloves.*****
