The "Foot of the Cross" is found Dan Nicholas Park on Bringle Ferry Road in Salisbury, NC. You can find directions off Exit #79 from Rt. 85. When you enter the park, drive straight and park by the Lake. Walk around the Lake until you see the trail sign entering the woods. (NO BICYCLES ALLOWED is on the sign.) Walk the trail until you cross over two wooden walkways or bridges. When you cross over the second walkway you'll see a #5 post marker. Stand by the marker and look to your left into the woods. You'll see a tree with a large rock at the base, look behind the rock and you will find the Cross. Peace and joy can be found at the foot of the cross by just believing in what a man over 2000 years ago did for us. ENJOY!!!!
You can spend a full day at this park. It offers camping, hiking, fishing, paddle boats, a train ride and more. Be sure to take in all the sites. God Bless you!
