Brief history of Marietta College (from the Walking Guide of Marietta). Founded as a non-denominational Christian college, Marietta College has its roots in several predecessor institutions in Marietta, beginning with Muskingum Academy in 1797. In the spring of 1832 a committee of Marietta citizens, led by Dr. S.P. Hildreth, chartered the Marietta Collegiate Institute as an outgrowth of the Reverend Luther G. Bingham's 1830 Institute of Education. When it opened in 1835, Marietta College boasted a faculty of five professors and offered a full collegiate course of instruction in moral and intellectual philosophy, Greek, Latin, mathematics, physics, rhetoric and political economy. Professor Israel W. Andrews led the college as it's president from 1838 to 1885; his geological theories laid the framework of Marietta College's lasting eminence in the field of petroleum engineering. Andrew Hall, built in 1832-1834 is the oldest building on campus.

Clues:
To find Essentials for College life you must first find your way to the Marietta College. (hint: its up Putnam away from the river about 5 blocks or so). Go up Putnam to 5th Street and take a left and find a parking spot. Walk back down to Putnam and go in the Entrance to the college at the end of 5th Street. Walk down the mall admiring the campus and during school all the fine young students. At the end of the mall on the left is the student union, the hub of activities during school. You may now return up the mall until reaching the flag pole where upon passing you will take a right turn. Walk up the imitation stone laid walk passing the Bernard McDonough Center and take a left at the street light at the end of this building. Proceed up this sidewalk ~ 38 steps until you are in front of the second restricted for handicapped parking signs. This sign is in front of a green humming electrical cabinet sitting on the ground. At the back of the base of the sign post, beneath the shrub, is the black letterpouch under a couple of rocks. Discretely remove the pouch and find somewhere close to do the stamping. When done, please return everything to the baggy and seal it well and replace it in the pouch, tie the string and then return the pouch to where you found it under the rocks.
Now you are ready to go find some more boxes around town.
