Drive to Belcarra Park you will find the directions under
The Mystery Tree

This is actually a part of a series of sorts, so you can get 3 letterboxes in one trip.(unless you already have found Mystery Tree and The Tempter)

There is some history if you want to research Judge Bole and his house that is along the trail, next to a famous, sort of, tree house that was built by and lived in by George Dyson as a 16 year old, back in the 70's. It is 95 feet up in the trees.

This one is a handcarved stamp by my own lovely Princess Daughter.
She wrote most of the clues herself today as we hiked.

The setting is oceanside, and the final destination is spectacular with views of Burnaby Mountain, Capitol Hill, Cates Park, Boulder Island, Hamber Island, Mount Seymour, and Deep Cove across the waters.

From The Tempter letterbox drop back down to the main trail. Proceed up the hill along the trail. Go through the 'sguiggly way' and past a tree that looks like a wooden swing, or the letter 'U'. Did U find it? Good, keep going. Pass through the 'Fern Forest' u will go down a l'il hill.
Eventually you pass an old white house/cabin in the forest to your right and a zigzag fence. That is Judge Boles home. There is some history. Sorry I attempted to post the link and it really messed up, thus this edit. Continue down the hill past the boulder and the path levels out. Go to the clump of 5 trees hugging, step past them and take 6 large steps to the fallen trees. Stop immediately as you pass them take a 1/4 turn to your right. Gaze up to the tall evergreens by the water in front of the Bole house. About 95 feet up you should spot the tree house. It is easier to see in the winter. You may spot the cedarshake roof or the white hexagonal window. He apprently hauled a woodstove up there too to heat the place.
Now you can continue along the path past 3 sets of railings and a moss wall. This wall is a site after a rain fall, or lots of runoff. Proceed up the 'stairs' and another railing.
Are you enjoying the ocean views?
You will come to a fork in the trail. Do not go left or right but through the spindly elegant trees(a superb playground for the kids), this is off the main trail. Meander down a slight bank towards a clump of 3 cedar trees. Near the base of the trees you will see a pile of rocks, beneath this lays the Princess Treasure. Please be sure to place under the rocks with some foliage to cover slightly.

Now for the views, go back towards the trail and take the fork towards the ocean. Immediately you will come out to a rock bluff overlooking the ocean(you probably will want to hold hands of younger children until settled). Sit and enjoy creation. Hopefully a few kayaks will paddle by to say hello. We have even been blessed with a harbour seal sunning on the rocks just below our feet.

Once you have rested, return the way you came and you can find the Mystery Tree.
