Located about 20 minutes east of Brisbane, Wynnum is a quaint little suburb on the shores of Moreton Bay. If you’re in the mood for a leisurely walk along the esplanade followed by a picnic of fish and chips, then the Wynnum-Manly area is the place you’d want to be. While this charming community looks deceptively quiet, there’s more than meets the eye when you start to prod the surface. Have a poke around and you’ll discover plenty of interesting places. Explore the mangrove boardwalks at Wynnum North and Lota. During the warmer months, make sure to bring the swimmers for the kiddies, so they can take a plunge in the wading pool. Enjoy a coffee overlooking the marina at Cambridge Parade, Manly. Fort Lytton at the mouth of the Brisbane River, and the convict settlement on St Helena Island, are well worth a look for the history buffs.

Once you've arrived in Wynnum, go to the parklands near the corner of Wynnum Esplanade and Florence Street. Around here you'll find Pandanus Beach, the wading pool, and the Wynnum jetty. For bike riders, you'll also find a bike path that runs the length of the waterfront from Wynnum North to Lota.
To find this letterbox, you’ll need to first find Pandanus Beach. At the northern end of the beach, next to the walking path, is a sign that identifies the beach. Directly behind this sign are two pandanus trees bolstered by their distinctive root structure. Go to the tree closest to the water and stand with your back to the water, so that the broken limb of the pandanus tree is at your right hip. You should be facing straight at the trunk of the other pandanus tree. On the ground right in front of you should be a rock, covered by the low leaves of the other pandanus tree. Have a look under the rock to discover your prize.
