This box is located at the park Nichols Green. This is a beautiful park with a paved walking trail throughout. It has numerous playgrounds and very nice covered picnic areas. It even has an absoulutely breathtaking waterfall. There is lots of green grass to frolic in. There is also a skateboard park there that is free of charge for you more daredevilish types.
To get to Nichols Green from Tyler:
Take Hwy 69 S. going toward Rusk. When you get to the resturant Chubby's on the right hand side there will be a road that turns back to the left. This is Beaumont street. Take this street. Turn right onto Andrew Steet. You will pass a sign for Nichols Green and you will see the skateboard park on your right. Do not turn here. Continue until you reach the stop sign. Take a right. Follow the curve to your left and you will see the park and parking lot on your right side. Pull into this parking lot to begin your journey for the letterbox.
Directions to letterbox.
1. Take the sidewalk out to the playground. At the end of the cement, at the entrance to the playground, go left for about 16 paces.
2. Next turn right and go about 35 paces to the tree at the back of the playground.
3. Next go left about 37 paces to the next tree. You should be in a little grove of 4 trees.
4. Now go about 6 paces to the two small trees.
5. Next go about 7 paces to the large tree that is actually two trees growing together.
6. Look in the v-shaped area in the middle of the two trees that are growing together. Under the sticks that are placed in the middle of the trees you will find your prize. Please rehide well as this is a pretty high traffic area and some stealth is required.
