This area is a real live spring. The spring has been channeled where it comes from a pipe that is stuck up in the iron ore rocks so it literally appears to be water from the rocks. The water is very cold and tastes great. Many times when you visit this area there are people filling up jugs with the water to take home. The area needs to be re-landscaped but the water is worth the trip so don't forget to take a glass or a jug with you. I promise you will not be disappointed.

Directions from Tyler:

Take Hwy 69 to Jacksonville. In Jacksonville, take a right on Hwy. 175 W. About 8.7 miles down Hwy. 175 is a little community named Cuney. Whatever you do drive under the speed limit. The policeman in this area is merciless on speeders. When your odometer reads 10.9 miles look to your left and you will see an area to pull off of the road. You should be directly in front of the spring.

Directions to the letterbox:

1. While facing the spring take the stairs to the left and go to the very top of the hill.

2. Once at the top, look to your right and you will see a rock wall. From this wall turn right and go 15 paces to a tree.

3. Once you reach the tree, still continue in the same direction for another 26 paces to two pine trees growing side by side.

4. Look at the base of the pine tree and you will see a rock. Under this rock is the letterbox.

HAPPY HUNTING AND DON'T FORGET YOUR GLASS TO TASTE THE COOL, REFREASHING SPRING WATER!
