5/1/07: Wildflower Meadow was overwhelmed by rising waters in the spring rains this year, and is now gone and will not be replaced.

To reach this section of the trail, turn S off of FM 1709 (Keller Parkway) at Rufe Snow Drive go about ½ mile to Bear Creek Parkway (past Keller Pointe). Park in the parking lot on the SW corner of Rufe Snow at Bear Creek Parkway. Follow clues for Creek Crossing, or walk the trail going East from the parking lot, along the creek and through the woods until you reach the wildflower meadows.

To find Wildflower Meadow:
If you have found Creek Crossing on this trail, return to the walking trail and continue toward the East, along through the woods and into the wildflower meadows. You will go through the first meadow and follow the curving trail as it continues on to the second wildflower meadow (this one has a circular rock firepit and a rose arbor near the center). Wave to the longhorns if they are near the fence. Just after you enter this meadow, watch for a green marker that says “BM18. From the line on the trail closest to this marker, count 10 lines. The 10th line points directly to a cedar tree next to the trail with a small beaten path leading into the woods left of the tree. Follow this path behind the tree and look at the base of the tree for a Wildflower hidden beneath some pieces of bark. Please reseal the bags and box tightly and cover the box well, since this letterbox is very near the trail. Be sure it can’t be seen from the trail as the trail is frequented by walkers, bicycles, and dogs.

Please emal us to let us know the status of this box: blhjrh@aol.com

Return to the walking trail to find the other letterboxes on this trail.
