This box is located in Lake Griffin State Park, home of one of the state's largest live oak trees. The Park is located on U.S. Hwy 441/27, 2 miles north of Leesburg. The cost to enter the park is $4 per car. This area is known for its bird-watching, marsh wildlife (including alligators!) and fishing.

After entering the park, drive 0.1 mile to a parking lot on the right-hand side. Park in this lot. Walk across the street and along the dock by the marsh, keeping your eyes open for alligators! Just past the dock you'll see the trail head, where your search will begin.

This leisurely trail will take you around a natural "hammock," through areas of Saw Palmettos, Ferns and Live Oaks. When you reach a fork in the trail, veer to the right.

Notice the two beautiful fern-covered live oaks, that create a natural archway to welcome you further up the trail.

When you come to a bench on the right side of the trail, stop and rest on the bench, noticing the fern-covered oak that bows to greet you. At the base of this tree, you'll find what you're looking for!
