Mt. Blue State Park
Weld, Maine Franklin county near Farmington
Planted by : Pine Tree on July 11, 2002
Easy: 1/2 mile or longer

Park at Control Center parking lot and walk back towards the way you drove in. There is a brown gate. There is a clearing on the right after the gate. It is marked with 3 large rocks to start your journey.

Follow the moss lined path. Shortly you will come to the dirt road. Take a right.

Cross over the wooden bridge over Swett Brook.

On your left you will see a trail sign for Swett Brook Trail..continue on this trail. You will see many trees marked with pink tape on your right.( the pink markers were gone when I checked the box in 7/04) and a few USMArkers. (US 106) is the first marker up a hill on your left. ( the property abutting the park is for sale) Soon the stream will be on your left. Cross over a couple one plank bridges and continue on.

You will see a rock wall on your right. Your treasure is hidden near US MARKER 103 in the rock wall behind a tree with 3 sisters. Please stamp secretly and continue on the path until you come to the paved road. Here you can go left and head back to the parking lot or cross the road and continue on the trail which is approx. 1 1/2 miles long as it circles the entire park.
